Main Idea: What is faith?!
What I learned about God: God is surely alive and real
Summary: This is when Jesus resurrects after the crucifixion and then He appears to the scared disciples. The disciples, so afraid of the Jews, had locked themselves in the room so that no one could find them but Jesus appears to them and everyone in the room believes and sees that Jesus is the true God. Everyone but Thomas was in that room when that happened and when he had heard that Jesus is alive and had appeared to the other disciples, he could not believe it unless he saw it upon himself to touch the wounds of Jesus due from the cross. Jesus then appears to Thomas and shows his the scars and wounds due from the cross and immediately Thomas begins to believe but Jesus says Blessed are the ones who did not see and yet have believed.
Application: This was a passage that truly just reminded me of what faith is. Faith is being able to trust in something that you cannot see with your own two eyes. It is being able to know that we have to have faith in others. Even though the world tells us its impossible for a certain person to be a certain way, we must have faith in God because through Him we can do all things. In my own life, I feel that I must have faith in the people who are shunned from the world. In this I feel that when people put faith into me to do something, most people feel that I am an irresponsible person but when I pull through, I feel that the person that had faith in me can truly just see God's glory. In this I must see that everyone in the world that I meet, I must have faith in them to glorify God through my actions because Jesus had faith in all that he met whether it was a adulteress named Mary Magdalene to the Centurion who showed great faith. He had faith in all those people and as so we as Christians must do the same.
