Phillipians 4:10-20

Time:

Main Idea: God's Provision

What I Learned About God: God gives back in great amounts

Summary: This is a passage that is famous for including the beloved verse of Philippians 4:13. This is a time when at the end of the letter to the Philippians, Paul is thanking them for the support that he had received from them throughout his whole mission trip. He briefly explains his whole mission journey and how he was blessed by the Philippians all the way from the beginning and how they were the only ones to truly comfort him in his time of need when he was in jail all alone. Paul then explains of their great sacrifice in which they have made in supporting Paul with his journey and how that through all of that self sacrifice, God will repay them with every need that they have accordingly by Jesus Christ.

Application: Going on missions this summer, I see the importance of support for missions during the time of missions and how it will truly affect the missionary. This also is shows me how even just giving your time for activities in awana or teaching in your church can just be so tiring but if we just do it with a heart set on serving the Lord, He will with no doubt reward us so much more according to Jesus. This has just been such a wake up call because starting tomorrow I will be driving 2 and a half hours to palm springs with SMC KCCC and how I was so against going out there because of the drive. I just noticed that the list is predominately filled with new comers and if me driving just 2 and a half hours for their salvation to be found, God will have not only blessed me but also given me the blessing of helping another friend to the family of Christ. I have learned to do things with a heart set on serving God because in the end, He has truly given us the gift of life and He will also be please with us.
