5/17/10: Acts 9:1-19

Time Spent: 15 mins

Main Idea: Saul's Conversion

What I learned about God: God only sees the good in people

Summary: This is the story of Saul on the way to Damascus in order to persecute Christians. He was then struck by a beam of light as Jesus came to Him and blinded Saul. Saul is then blinded for 3 days as Ananias is sent to him on the 3rd day. Saul then became filled with the Holy Spirit and became an advocate for Christ.

Application: In my life, I have done so much wrong to not be deserving of God's love. God loved us all that He truly only sees the good in people and therefore He can't see the evil that we have done against Him. Even Saul, a man who persecuted and killed Christians, was saved through God and became one of the most well known apostles of Christ. In my life, I must not remember on what I have done to not deserve God's grace, but on how I should be thanking Him and working for Him because of His eternal love for us. My life has always been revolved around me but instead, I should make it my duty to work for His name in all that I do. In my life, the purpose to getting that A, or going to numerous outreaches a week is not trying to look cool or impress someone, but instead it is able to symbolize a thankful heart for God's sacrifice on the cross through Christ Jesus our Lord.
