Main Idea: Preach the Word
What I learned about God: He will reward us for our deeds
Summary: This passage is telling us of the person we must be. we must continue to preach the Word and be evangelists. Even when people will will start to believe in other religions, we must keep a pure and sober mind in that we will not turn away from Him in any place or time. We must remain loyal to the one who has saved us. Paul is explaining in the second part of the passage in that he is being used by God and he has devoted his whole life upon Him but now He is giving Paul rest in the kingdom. Paul is acknowledging that his life is almost over and how God is repaying Him for his life long commitment onto Him.
Application: In my life, I have always been so preoccupied with what I am going to do in the future, but I noticed today while speaking to a pastor of mine. Like in "The Bourne Ultimatum", as the assets within the CIA, we must be waiting for God's calling and only preoccupying us what we will give up for His kingdom. To be life Paul and the other Apostles, we must be willing to drop our lives for His name. In my life, I must find something that God will be glorified through, but when God calls I will be ready to work for Him.
