Main Idea: The Lord's favor to conscientious people who walk in an upright way
What I Learned about God: God is a just judge
Summary: This Proverbs was used to describe and compare the fool to the wise. These verses are to share about the "man of understanding". People should not identify a faithful man by the words that he uses, but rather through the lifestyle in which he or she lives. One of the most powerful examples that one can give towards a secular audience is a life lived out fully for God. There are several blessings attached to this exhortation; that God is merciful and just to those and this man of blessing will be able to bless others and his children (v. 5, 7). This is a great reminder in which we not only are accountable to ourselves, but also to the sphere of influence in our lives which God has called us to.
Application: I tend to think just like the regular American; I am not responsible for you but for myself. I realized how far-fetched this is in reality. I know that I am responsible for leaders, students, and parents all around the church. It is shrinking the calling which God has placed in my life to isolate just "myself" into this scenario. Now, showing that I am righteous is not just a matter of "talking myself up" or proving to people that I can do it, but rather is
