5/21/10: Romans 8:18-28

Time Spent: 11:40

Main Idea: Future Glory

What I learned about God: God is there helping us always

Summary: This is in the book of Romans as Peter is writing of the future glory. He goes on to explain how right now, it is unthinkable for us to even compare our current sufferings to the glory of God. We have been suffering throughout our lives waiting for Jesus to come and redeem us of our eternal life through His sacrifice. Even though we are waiting, we cannot grow weary in waiting for His return. We must wait and pray and even if we don't know what to pray for or cannot make up our minds, the Spirit truly helps you in all that you do. He basically finishes our sentences for us.

Application: In my life, I am an impatient man that gets irritated in all that happens around me. It kills me to see a person who cannot understand a simple fact of life or how to do the simplest task. Waiting on someone is truly the worst because then I start questioning my own motives and become frustrated in all that I do. In waiting for Jesus, I can't help but anticipate it. Through His great love and sacrifice, I feel He deserves for me to wait for Him and no one else. It kills me though when I am unable to do that for my own family members and friends. In the same way at the end of the passage, the Spirit will intercede according to the will of God, it will truly help me in all my struggles. In my daily Christian walk, I must restore myself in the Spirit in that I daily grow stronger in Him.
