5/2/10: Matthew 28:16-20

Time Spent: 10:45

Main Idea: Great Commission

What I learned about God: God wants all His children to be with Him

Summary: This is in the Gospel of Matthew and it is when Jesus is giving the Great Commission to His disciples before He ascends into Heaven.

Application: The most promising verse that always sticks out to me when I read this is verse 20 when Jesus says, I am always with you to the end of the age. This truly shows me that Jesus is always behind us. Even when we are far from home, we are in a different country or continent, Jesus is omnipresent and He will always be there behind us no matter what. It takes so much to leave your life behind in order to follow Jesus' commands but knowing that He is right there behind us just give me comfort to the point in which I know Jesus is preparing each and every step and each and every person that I meet. I need to just trust in Him because even though I might know one of two steps ahead of my life, Jesus has the rest of my life planned out for me and in which He has given me a plan to spread His word among the nations of the earth. As I go on missions this summer, I know that even if I go to a spiritually dead place, Jesus is always there helping us with our fulfillment of Jesus' Great Commission.
