5/6/10: John 8:1-11

Time Spent: 15 mins

Main Idea: We are sinless

What I learned about God: God forgives us all of our sins

Summary: This is when the woman who committed adultery is thrown in front of Jesus by the scribes and the Sanhedrin. They try to challenge Jesus with the Law of Moses against His divine right. Jesus then starts writing on the ground and instead of denying the Law of Moses, He corrects the meaning in that the person with no sin should cast the first stone. As everyone starts walking away, Jesus picks up the woman and tells her to go away from her sinful life and to go on living without sin.

Application: This kind of reminds me of how Jesus forgives us of our sins how we are now sinless through His death. In the same way, people in my life have always sinned against me and given me the reason to curse them but instead I should remember that they are sinless in that I must be the one to forgive and love them just as Jesus did. This is how I must live my life in that I must love the ones that curse me and the ones that hurt me for even they are ones who are blessed by God to Heaven through His atoning sacrifice.
